Jangma's gift, picked on the day: when it actively rains we head to Eongtto, the 50-meter waterfall that runs maybe ten days a year, all of them in monsoon. On a dry afternoon we duck into Manjanggul instead — a UNESCO lava tube at a steady 11–14°C. Either way, indoor backups stand by and BBQ moves to the covered patio.
Late June is hydrangea peak — the Pyoseon Folk Village festival at full saturation, Jongdal-ri's east-coast lane and the Hyeongje-ro country road all cobalt and pink. The grey monsoon sky is what makes the blue actually pop.
