Light shifts in the second week of August — golden hour stretches, sunset arrives a touch earlier. Right at the villa: walk down to Pyoseon Beach for the last hour before sundown, basalt pools holding the warm light, no drive needed.
Mid-August is local watermelon peak. A farm-fresh Aewol watermelon is delivered to the villa — we make hwachae (Korean watermelon punch with rice cake and milk) together as the afternoon cools, no farm trip needed.
Mid-August is the Perseid meteor shower's tail. We set out mats and tea on the villa roof on cleared nights — the show picks up after 23:00 and runs until just before dawn.
