May 17 2027 (Umm al-Qura) is Eid al-Adha Day 1 — the session's opening Monday. We start with the morning prayer at the villa, a warm halal Korean breakfast spread (Jeju citrus juice, abalone-egg porridge, fresh halal banchan), and quiet time before the first drive. A rare way to spend Eid with a small global Muslim community on a Korean island.
Mid-to-late May is when Hallasan's Witse-Oreum and Yeongsil mid-slopes hit azalea peak — a pink hillside under the rocky summit dome, the only week of the year it looks like this. We drive up early on Day 4 for the boardwalk approach, ~3.5 hours round-trip on wooden walkway.
Late May is when Jeju's tangerine groves bloom — small white flowers with a smell halfway between orange and jasmine. The interior roads to Seogwipo turn into corridors of it; we route the Day 4 finale through.
