The east-coast haenyeo coast on July's first clear stretches between monsoon breaks — Sehwa and Jongdal beaches go to glass at first light. We pass this stretch to and from the Haenyeo Museum, with a pause for photos at Hado-ri's emerald shoreline. Modest dress, no swim.
A 5-minute ferry from Seongsan to Udo ("cow island") — Korea's southernmost inhabited islet. Bicycle or walk the 17-km perimeter past white-sand beaches and basalt cliffs, lunch at a haenyeo-run noodle shop. Fully modest, no swim. ~30 min from villa.
Hado-ri's Haenyeo Museum tells the story of Jeju's UNESCO-listed women divers — exhibits, archive footage, the actual gear. Lunch follows at a Haenyeo's House (해녀의 집) on the same coast: abalone porridge from the morning's catch, run by the divers themselves.
